TECHNICAL LEADERSHIP PROGRAMME
Nowhere have we seen more organisational improvement than in the work Relay did on team leader development. They helped us clarify our needs and develop a substantial programme to take our technical experts and turn them into technical leaders. We ran the first programme in 1996. Since then it has been by far the most requested programme we have ever deployed and is fully supported by our line management. Popularity is not the only measure of the programme success. Careful evaluation using Kirkpatrick's four levels has shown sustained organisational improvement and a multi-million pound payback through increased productivity and time to market.
INDIVIDUAL PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT
Relay have also helped us make significant improvement in our performance management process. Together we have succeeded in turning a rigid manager lead annual appraisal cycle into a dynamic employee-led series of 'one-to-ones'. In our fast-paced market environment, this means staff are now empowered to continually check that their objectives and performance meet organisational goals. By working with all levels of the organisation, Relay have helped us change from filling out forms to actively managing performance.
NETWORKS FOR YOU – E-LEARNING
In knowledge based organisations, great ideas often fail because the innovator is not connected. Successful knowledge-based companies have abandoned hierarchical management. This increases empowerment and productivity, but it can often leave people unsure about how they drive through change or gain acceptance of a new idea. Relay’s e-learning programme, NetWorks For You, helps staff understand how they can navigate through today's complex organisations. It gives them strategies and a tool kit to help them connect into the organisation and show them how to gain support for their ideas and innovations. |
